WATER SOFTENER CLEANER
Restores softening capacity in water conditioners by removing iron deposits from resin. It also removes iron stains and rust from:

  • Bathroom fixtures
  • Clothing and other fabrics
  • Dishes, glassware, and flatware
  • Automatic dishwashers and washing machines
  • Exterior walls
  • Auto and truck
  • Contains a higher concentration of active ingredients compared to similar products
  • Has minimal harsh chemical smell
  • Packaged in convenient 20oz, 5lb, and bulk quantities to service any size water conditioner or iron level

Instructions For Cleaning Water Conditioning Units
Automatic Softeners

  1. Slowly add 10 oz of Ban-Iron to one gallon of warm water, stirring constantly to completely dissolve chemical
  2. On softeners with a salt usage control, move salt selector to highest setting. Eliminate this step on softeners without this feature
  3. Pour Ban-Iron solution into brine well located inside salt storage tank. Leave lid off salt tank for ventilation
  4. Regenerate immediately and set softener to regenerate that night. Replace the salt tank lid the next morning and reset the salt detector

Manual Softeners
Prepare Ban-Iron cleaning solution as above and use the following dosage: 20,000 grain softeners make 1 gallon of solution; 30,000 grain softeners make 2 gallons of solution; 70,000 grain softeners make 3 gallons of solution. Regenerate softener as usual, adding the Ban-Iron cleaning solution through the top opening before adding salt.

Instructions For Household Cleaning

  • Sinks, Tubs, & Ceramic Tile – Wet Surface. Sprinkle Ban-Iron onto wet surface and gently rub with a soft, wet cloth. Rinse thoroughly after stains disappear.
  • Toilets – Add 2 tablespoons of Ban-Iron while agitating the water and let sit for approximately 1/2 hour. Repeat if necessary.
  • Clothing & Fabrics – Ban-Iron may be used on most colored fabrics after testing for color-fastness.
  • To remove iron stains from clothing and other fabrics, soak clothing in a solution of 1/4 cup Ban Iron and 2 gallons water for 1/2 hour. Then wash clothing according to normal wash instructions.
  • Dishes & Glassware – Soak iron stained dishes and glassware for 20 minutes using a solution of 2 tablespoons BAN-IRON to 1 gallon water. Then wash dishes as normal.
  • Dishwashers & Washing Machines – Empty the machine, then add 10 tablespoons of Ban-Iron and run a full cycle.
  • Outside Surfaces – Concrete, stucco, brick, vinyl and metal surfaces can all be cleaned with a solution of 10 oz Ban-Iron and 1 gallon water. Saturate the stained surface with the solution and allow to sit for 1 hour, repeat if necessary to remove stains. Then rinse thoroughly.
  • Auto & Truck Radiators – Drain radiator and refill with a solution of 1/2 cup Ban-Iron and 1 gallon water. With radiator capped, run motor for 5 minutes and let stand for several hours. Drain radiator and refill with standard radiator fluid mixture.

Safety Information: Avoid vapors after mixing with water. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. In case of contact, flush thoroughly with water, in case of eye contact, get prompt medical attention. If swallowed, give plenty of water or milk and call physician.

Contains Sodium Hydrosulfite & Sodium Bisulfite. Store in a cool and dry location.
